Guam - The Guam Air National Guard celebrated a historical milestone after activating a new unit. Adjutant General Major General Benny Paulino says it's not often that days like this happen in the organization. The activation of the 254th Comptroller flight as a separate and distinct unit under the 254th Air base group follows a path for the growth ahead.

Commander Johnny Lizama states, "In 1982, the 254th Civil Engineering Flight received its federal recognition. At that time a flight, it has now evolved into the 254^th Red Horse Squadron over 170 strong." The unit is comprised of 10 personnel most of whom have some type of deployment experience. Military officials state this new unit demonstrates a practice of fiscal responsibility in servicing over 450 assigned members of the Guam Air National Guard.
