Guam - Now that's been confirmed by the Legislature all that's left is for James Canto to be sworn in. An investiture ceremony has been scheduled for next Wednesday in the atrium of the Guam Judicial Center in Hagatna. Supreme court of Guam Chief Justice F. Philip Carbullido will administer the Oath of Office.

Canto received his Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California in 1995 and has been a member of the Guam Bar Association since May 1996. During his 15-year legal career, he served as a public defender, a defense attorney, having extensive trial, arbitration, and mediation experience.

Canto is a JFK High School graduate and an Army veteran.
