Port, Watts Constructors have 90 days to settle
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - Visiting District Court Judge Consuelo Marshall has given the Port Authority and Watts Constructors 90 days to try and reach a settlement. Watts disputes more than $1,000,000 in charges imposed by the agency after the company sent cargo through the Guam Shipyard instead of the Port.
The agency has moved to have the case thrown out, alleging Watts failed to exhaust available administrative remedies. The judge meanwhile took the Port's motion to dismiss under advisement and will issue a decision on that motion if the parties do not reach an agreement in the next 90 days.
