Guam - Now that the governor has appointed five new members to the Guam Education Policy Board, a special meeting will be held next week to discuss the pressing issue of the Department of Education's 2012 budget. One of those newly-appointed members is the Guam Community College's Barry Mead, who says he's glad to be working with such a diverse group of people who all want to improve local education.
He told KUAM News, "I think the diversity of the group is probably better than what it was as an all elected board. They bring a lot of experience. It should be pretty cool."
The meeting will be held next Thursday beginning at 6pm in the DOE Conference Room in Hagatna.
