Guam - Department of Education superintendent Dr. Nerissa Bretania Underwood says she was told by the Guam Police Department that a case has been closed when it comes reports of bullying at F.B. Leon Guerrero Middle School. Parents and student spoke out about these incidences during a public hearing at the Guam Legislature.

She told KUAM News, "They have taken action and there are consequences to bullying. Everyone needs to understand that. We have also improved our data collection and so we are going to be sending out a report because the last time we had the oversight hearing, one of the weaknesses within DOE had been the data collection and analysis."

As for whether former FBLG administrators Ulric Mark and Milaflor Quitugua are still employed with the Department of Education, the superintendent said she couldn't comment. She adds that there are still pending personnel actions against the two individuals.
