Guam - Former Guam Police Department Records & ID Section employee Karen Guerrero was prepared to go to trial today but instead entered into an Alford Plea. This means that Guerrero does not admit to any criminal act but only admits that the prosecution could likely prove the charges of theft of property held in trust and tampering with public records.
Guerrero denies stealing any money from the police department, but was ordered to pay $29,000 in restitution within the next three years. Once the restitution has been paid in full, the judge will dismiss the case.
