Guam - The Guam Department of Education's Financial Supervisory Commission will be meeting for the first time next week. A bill was signed into law that created the independent body to assist DOE and the Guam Education Policy Board with monitoring and managing financial resources.

The Commission includes the directors of Department of Administration, the Bureau of Budget & Management Research, the Office of Finance and Budget, the Office of the Public Auditor, along with a parent of a child currently enrolled in a public school. The superintendent will serve as the executive secretary and the deputy of finance will act as non-voting member.

The meeting will be held next Wednesday at 3pm at the DOE Conference Room in Hagatna.
