14 Southern students suspended after riot
Guam - More than a dozen students were involved in a riot that occurred at Southern High School during an afternoon break. According to Principal James Petitte, 15 students were involved, 14 were suspended and one withdrew from the school voluntarily. Petitte said the dispute started between two students about village differences and then grew as more students jumped into the fight.
The Guam Police Department had to be called, and Spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajdia says the students will have to appear before the Juvenile Investigation Section at a later time. Petitte said two students were transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital - a pregnant teenager who was an innocent bystander that was pushed and fell during the altercations; another who complained of chest pains.
No weapons were involved.
