Abandoned Vehicles Program still stagnant

The Abandoned Vehicles Program remains on hold as the Mayor's Council waits for the Department of Administration to set up the necessary accounts in order to move forward on a contract with Balli Steel.

Guam - The Abandoned Vehicles Program remains on hold as the Mayor's Council waits for the Department of Administration to set up the necessary accounts in order to move forward on a contract with Balli Steel. Sinajana Vice-Mayor Robert Hoffman says he expects progress from DOA with in the week.

Balli Steel is now ready to undertake the project, in conjunction with subcontracted recycling companies, since a notice of violation was temporarily lifted by the Guam Environmental Protection Agency last month. The Mayor's Council has been waiting for over a year to begin the project to remove abandoned cars from Guam's villages.
