Guam - McDonald's has recalled 12 million drinking glasses worldwide prompting the new "Shrek" movie because the paint used contains cadmium. That substance is a toxic metal that has been known to cause bone softening and severe kidney problems.  The concern was for trace amounts of cadmium leaching onto hands and then entering the body, a statement noted.

McDonald's has withdrawn all four designs of the 16-ounce glasses, which sold for $2 each. Local McDonald's restaurants have likewise stopped selling the glasses.
