Guam - It's been a wish for Ordot residents for decades, and now preparations for the final closure of the Ordot Dump are finally underway. Federal receiver Gershman, Brickner & Bratton is working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to prepare for the closure of the facility in the central village.
The receiver has already submitted a draft scope of work for the environmental and hydrogeologic investigations that will essentially lay the foundation for how the dump will be closed. In a report submitted to the U.S. District Court of Guam, GBB notes that the USEPA has scheduled meetings with the receiver's technical staff and individuals from the Guam EPA to coordinate the effort for April 30 and May 3.
