Guam - Guam Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo commended the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, saying their concerns echo those she and other Guam officials raised when providing official comments on the massive document.

Bordallo says, "The Department of Defense must address the overall infrastructure requirements on Guam and how to fund those requirements including, wastewater, and clean water concerns associated with the induced population growth."  Guam's delegate took special note of the EPA's comments on coral reef dredging in Apra Harbor for aircraft carrier berthing, adding, "The EPA raised serious concerns with the DoD's assessment method of coral reef impact and stated that the DoD underestimates coral reef impact on Guam."
