Rotarians learn about WestCare services
WestCare representative Kate Baltazar was the guest speaker at today's Rotary Club meeting. WestCare is a non-profit organization that began in Las Vegas treating heroine addicts and has since expanded to seven states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and now Guam, focusing on behavioral health and Mental Health services.
The local chapter recently received a five-year grant aimed at providing prevention and education, as well as community awareness and training for a number of local non-profit organizations that serve girls.
She said, "Although WestCare is new on Guam and we are still doing our community assessment as to what gaps in services we will always be a resource to other non-profits and also hopefully be welcomed and be a part of the fabric that is Guam."
