Harmon auto-pedestrian victim dies at hospital

A man in his 40's who was struck by a car on Sunday evening died at the Guam Memorial Hospital from injuries he sustained from the incident. Guam Police Department Sergeant John Bagaforo says the pedestrian, whose identity is being withheld, was crossing Route 16 from Harmon Loop Road toward McDonald's when he was struck by a 2002 Kia Sedona van in the innermost lane.
Medics were called to the scene around 7:30 Sunday evening, where they found the pedestrian with serious injuries. Guam Fire Department Spokesperon Joey San Nicolas says the man was unconscious and unresponsive. Police confirmed the pedestrian was pronounced dead around 10:45 Sunday night.
Highway Patrol Division investigators are trying to determine whether speed or alcohol were factors in the island's latest traffic related fatality.
