Some positive news ahead of the new school year—two GDOE schools have officially passed their public health inspections. Vicente S.A. Benavente Middle School improved its inspection score from a 38/C last year to a 32/C this year—showing progress in maintaining a safe and healthy campus for students and staff.

GDOE acknowledges the hard work of faculty, families, the facilities team, community partners, and gysep interns who all played a role.

Meanwhile, Finegayan Elementary School earned a 29/C on its school inspection—and its cafeteria scored a perfect 0/A on reinspection.

Principal Marites Garcia and her administrative team credit the collaborative efforts of staff, the FATE PTO, GDOE maintenance crews, interns from the Governor's Summer Youth Employment Program, and partners like Guam Cleaning Masters and Sodexo for making it happen.

Both campuses are now ready to welcome students back for School Year '25-'26.
