Tsunami watch issued for Guam & CNMI

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an 8.0 magnitude earthquake southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia. A tsunami watch is in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.
The threat is still being evaluated. If a tsunami is generated, the earliest possible arrival of waves to our region is 2:37 p.m. (ChST).
Be alert and prepared. If a tsunami advisory is issued, move to higher ground—at least 100 feet inland or 50 feet above sea level.
Stay tuned for updates from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center and local emergency officials.
