A familiar name will face off for the top seat in Adelup.

Senator Joe S. San Agustin has officially thrown his hat in the ring for Governor, confirming his candidacy during a live interview on “The Point” with Ray Gibson.

“I did mention several months back that I'm considering running. I spoke to several people and I've spoke to my wife and family, they said, yes, you should run. I’m gonna let you know I'm running for Governor,” said San Agustin.

The announcement sets up a high-profile democratic showdown, just one day after Lieutenant Governor Joshua Tenorio held a major fundraiser at Hyatt Regency Guam.

Both men have yet to name their running mates, but the race for Adelup 2026 is now officially on.

San Agustin has served in the Guam Legislature since 2017. Lt. Gov. Tenorio has been in office since 2019.

Let the campaigns begin.
