A man is under arrest following a stabbing incident Monday morning near the beach by the old Linda’s Cafe in East Agana. Around 9:30am, police responded to a report and found a shirtless man in red shorts—bleeding from the left side of his body. While being treated by medics, he told officers he had been stabbed with a kitchen knife by someone known to him during a confrontation inside a nearby room.

Later that day, officers located two individuals hiding under a bridge. One of them, identified as Anthony Inek, spontaneously told police, “It was his fault—i only did it because he started it.”

A consented search of Inek’s belongings turned up no weapons, but officers did find a case containing a baggie of suspected methamphetamine, which tested positive. Inek admitted the drugs were his.

He was arrested and now faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
