An inmate found dead inside Guam’s Department of Corrections facility last month is now the focus of a homicide investigation. Corrections director Fred Bordallo, Jr. confirmed to KUAM News that Manuel Greg Arriola was found unresponsive inside the Adult Correctional Facility in Mangilao just after midnight on June 15.

Bordallo offered condolences to Arriola’s family and said DOC is fully assisting the Guam Police Department with the ongoing homicide probe.

Arriola was facing multiple charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, with court documents detailing years of alleged abuse, including the rape of an 8-year-old girl. He was one of four individuals, including a teenager, charged in connection to a child rape case reported earlier this year.

GPD's Criminal Investigation Division continues to lead the case.

Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is urged to contact GPD.
