A shift in the weather is underway across the region as we head deeper into June. Here in the Marianas, a wetter pattern is taking shape, bringing a mix of sunshine, scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms through the weekend.

Upper-level activity and weak surface troughs are combining to add extra fuel to the forecast, so expect occasional downpours, but not continuous rain.

Out at sea, gentle to moderate trade winds continue with seas between three to five feet, and a moderate risk of rip currents along east-facing reefs.

In Yap and Palau, fair weather holds for now, but a monsoon setup is on the horizon. Light winds are expected to shift southwest with rain and thunderstorms developing late this week.

For the Federated States of Micronesia, the Intertropical Convergence Zone is triggering scattered storms south of Chuuk and near Kosrae.

Expect a mix of sun, showers, and occasional thunder through the weekend, while Majuro stays mostly dry.

Stay weather aware and plan accordingly as this seasonal transition continues.
