Nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among today's youth. That's what a bunch of the island's youngsters got to do at one local school in the south.  KUAM getting a glimpse into the future of the business scene as students from Mount Carmel Academy Charter School gave their best business pitches at their annual Business Fair.

Ever wondered what new business is on the horizon for the island?  That answer may lie in the minds of these young students. 

From a clothing brand with a purpose, as 8th grader Elias Rosaline explained, “My business is called Life Clothing - teens these days, they’re struggling with depression, anxiety, some with bad thoughts like suicide…so I just want to spread the word that there’s some good.” 

To new ways for artists to share their music. Fellow 8th grader Nathan Galas shared, “Wolfgang is an online music streaming industry–or part of it–online streaming platform–it will be moved by independent artists.” 

These budding entrepreneurs have the ideas and the business plans to turn their projects into flourishing ventures. 

Rosalin added, “What I got inspired by is I want to make shirts that teens would actually wear, that they would rock. This store is going to be located in Tumon at the Guam Plaza next to Stussy. I’m advertising it by social media like Instagram, Tiktok, and word of mouth.” 

And for Galas, a young guitarist, his business aspiration is to give a platform to others who share his passion. “So, when an artist posts their music onto Wolfgang, it would obviously be put out and promoted freely. However, if they want to pay extra–let’s say a subscription of 20 dollars monthly, they can even have an in-app digital production recording software and combine that with their promoted music from just putting out already–then, they’re basically set up for success," he said.

The MCS event setting students like Rosalin and Galas up for success each year it’s held.
