GDOE investigating complaint against GW employee

Posted: Updated:

Guam Department of Education spokeswoman Isa Baza confirms a George Washington High School employee is currently the subject of an investigation by the department.

“We are aware of a complaint regarding the conduct of an employee at GW High School made in April," she said. "The employee was removed from the school site pending the close of the investigation,” Baza said.

GDOE is currently investigating an allegation of sexual assault made against a GCC teacher at a local high school, an allegation of child abuse made against a GDOE teacher at a Yigo Elementary school and the latest allegation involving the GWHS employee.

“When an allegation is made, we do an investigation to establish the facts," Baza said. "That investigation includes interviews with the complainant, witnesses and anyone else who may have been involved or impacted based on what we learn. We err on the side of student safety. School administrators have been advised by the superintendent to be vigilant in ensuring that any alleged misconduct is reported immediately in order to ensure that proper action can be taken.”
