 Northern Shelters:

o             Astumbo Elementary School

o             Maria Ulloa Elementary School

o             Machananao Elementary School

o             Upi Elementary School

o             F.B. Leon Guerrero Elementary School

Central Shelters:

o             Carbullido Elementary School

o             George Washington High School

Southern Shelters:

o             M.U. Lujan Elementary School

o             Merizo Elementary School

o             Inarajan Middle School

o             Talofofo Elementary School

o             Harry S. Truman Elementary School

DO NOT attempt to go to these shelters now, they are not expected to open until Monday. Meanwhile, the opening of the shelters means there will be no classes for GDOE students on Monday, September 10th. Only

essential personnel as part of emergency operations will be required to report for duty.   Governor Eddie Calvo urges those in the community whose homes cannot withstand typhoon-strength winds, to make arrangements to stay with a friend or family member or in one of the emergency shelters.  Substandard housing absolutely will not be able to withstand the expected typhoon force winds.
