Airport cop Vincent Castro off the hook for now

An airport cop charged for opening fire during a high speed chase from Tiyan to Harmon is off the hook for now.

Last year, Vincent R. Q. Castro was charged with multiple counts of felony aggravated assault and reckless conduct as a misdemeanor.

Those charges were recently dismissed without prejudice.

The motion was filed by prosecutors who cited difficulties prosecuting Castro while criminal cases are pending against the alleged victim.

The victim in his case is Joshua John Untalan Mesa.

Earlier this year, Mesa was arrested in charged for a package containing 56-grams of the drug "ICE."
