Peace agreement signed

A peace agreement is signed and a promise is made to start the denuclearization process in North Korea. President Donald Trump met with the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, during the Singapore Summit held on Tuesday.

“I want to thank Chairman Kim for taking the first bold step towards a bright new future for his people,” Trump said.

Trump called the meeting with Kim honest, direct, and productive.

“We are prepared to start a new history and we are ready to write a new chapter between our two nations,” he said. “Adversaries can indeed become friends.”

He said the summit proved to be a great moment in the history of the world.

“Chairman Kim has already told me that North Korea is already destroying a major missile engine testing site. We agreed to that after the agreement was signed,” he said. “That’s a big thing for the missiles that they were testing the site.”

He said the sanctions will come off when he is sure the nukes are no longer a factor.

Trump, however, could not give a definite timeline as to when this would occur.

“The menace of nuclear weapons will now be removed,” Trump stated. “In the meantime, the sanctions will remain in effect. We dream of a future where all Koreans can live together in harmony, where families are reunited, and hopes are reborn and where the light of peace chases away the darkness of war. This bright future is within our reach. It’s going to be there. It’s going to happen.”

The president also called for an end to the “War Games” with South Korea.

“The war games are very expensive. We pay for a big majority of it. We fly in bombers from Guam,” he said. “That’s a long time for these big massive planes to be flying to South Korea to practice and then drop bombs all over the place and then go back to Guam.”
