On island to answer to the charges, Hansen Helicopters owner John D. Walker pleaded not guilty. Walker flew in from Missouri and will be allowed to return home after he posts a property bond.

Walker is charged with the company's Executive Vice President Marvin R. Reed, Director of Operations Kenneth R. Crowe, and Director of Maintenance Phillip Kapp. The group are in the red with the feds for trying to fly by strict safety regulations set by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

Court documents sate the scheme involved obtaining aircrafts that had been previously de-registered because they were destroyed, scrapped, or otherwise deemed not airworthy, then faking the documentation to put those  helicopters back in service.

Parties in court on Friday noted there are hundreds of thousands of pages of discovery and will need additional time to review these documents.

A status hearing is set for August 20.
