Independent Guahan is hosting their second "Ayuda i Manaina-ta" this Saturday to help eligible World War II Survivors and their descendants.

You're eligible if you are a World War II survivor, a child, spouse, or parent of someone killed during the War, or if you have power of attorney of a War survivor who recently passed way as late as December 2016. Michael Lujan Bevacqua cochair for Independent Guahan says eligible Chamoru's should file, and others can file in protest.

"To anyone who is a war survivor or represents somebody who is eligible to receive compensation you have one month left. So Independent Guahan as part of our commitment to community education and outreach we're here to help people fill out their forms, they'll be notary publics here as well," he explained.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 19th from 9am-3pm at the atrium of the Humanities and Social Science Building at UOG.

Bevacqua says they completed more than a 100 applications during the last event on December 8th. There will also be music, food, and a chance to share oral history for survivors.
