Joshua Mesa pleads not guilty to drugs

Federal drug defendant Joshua John Untalan Mesa will head to trial this summer.

In court on Monday, Mesa pleaded not guilty to attempted possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and depredation to government property.

Earlier this month, the feds intercepted a package which contained 56-grams of the drug "ICE" and replaced it with sham and a beeper transmitter.

When Mesa picked up the package this week, court documents state authorities followed him to a Chalan Pago home where he gave chase into a nearby jungle.

Trial is set for July 17.
