911 service down, residents urged to go to fire stations for help

Posted: Updated:

Customers throughout the island are reporting difficulty making land line calls - including the island's 911 service. The Guam Fire Department told KUAM News: "GTA is having problems with one of their switches. Currently it is affecting all landlines and cell phones. Consequently the 911 system is down.

GTA acknowledges the issue and are working on it. At this time there is no estimated time for restoration of service. We are urging the public to proceed to the closest precinct, fire station or hospital if they have an emergency."
