Guam - A Latte Heights family lost everything after a fire raced through their home early this morning.

Like many families, Aliphios Kannys was planning to have a party at his home on Christmas Day. He said, still in shockl, "I really don't know what I'm going to do."

But this morning he was suddenly awaken by a loud noise. "I noticed fire is all around the house in the living rooms bedroom everything," he recalled. "I jumped out and window then I took this shirt cover my nose and mouth I went back inside to get the kids and everybody out."

As a security manager at one of the island's hotels, Aliphios knew exactly what to do, after all it's part of his job to train his staff on fire safety,  he rescued everyone inside his home, several adults and five small children. "One is about six months, one is on year, one two year , three," he said.

All of his personal belongings and money he had inside his home are gone. The cause of the house fire remains under investigation, but for Alphisio although they may not have a home, what matters most is his family. "Thank God everybody is safe," he said.
