Guam - Make sure to check out the Slammed Society Auto Lifestyle
Showcase tomorrow afternoon at the Guam International Raceway in Yigo. Gates
open at 3:00 pm with several events lined up throughout the day.
Mark Arcenal, Fatlace Creative Director, said, "The crowds
that usually come out to our events know what to expect as far as the cars
come. The spectators actually enjoy the event a lot because they get to see not
just the cars but guy's break dancing against each other and the drifting of
course. And I think with our event graffiti was added on last year when we did
it out in Hawaii and I thought it turned out really good."
On the drifting side of the event local competitors will get a
shot at one another as special guest Kenji Yamanaka will be in the house
judging the competition.
Tom Akigami, Event Coordinator, said, "For Slammed Society we
are going to be featuring the Final Round of the Proline Drift series presented
by GoPro, Monster Energy, Outback Steakhouse and NAPA Auto Parts. Kenji
Yamanaka is coming back to judge the event as well as John Domingo a past Guam
champion, 3X champion. He will be flying in from Okinawa, he's stationed out
there and he will be competing against the guys locally."
On the car show side Felix Marcelino will be judging and he'll be
looking for what makes your ride unique and different from everybody else.
Marcelino said, "We judge cars as a whole package and so then
someone that built it in their style and their category has every chance to win
it against somebody that dropped a ton of money into it or if he did it his
way. We are all about individuality and individual build so we like to keep
everything on the grass roots level so it's not just who put the most money
into it, it's who loves their car the most."
