Guam - It's a great day for Island Girl Power as the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority held an open house for the renovation of Kurason Ysengsong.
Island Girl Power director Juanita Blaz said, "It was a struggle to do the programs and take care of renovations as we moved on but this grant allows us not only to continue our programs but be able to offer a helping hand to other organizations smaller than ours."
$450,000 where used to revive a cluster of four abandoned and dilapidated buildings. The buildings will be used to benefit low and moderate income families and managed by island girl power. Daily classes and family friendly activities will be provided on the premises to include substance abuse prevention programs and a community garden serving as a gathering place for visitors and residents to create a network of community partners.
