Guam - The Guam Election
Commission is still searching for precinct officials to work in the November
general election for Decision 2012. Executive director Maria Pangelinan says
about a dozen villages still need help filling up slots.
The villages include Hagatna, Asan, Santa Rita, Talofofo, Chalan
Pago, Sinajana, Barrigada, Mangilao, Tamuning, Dededo and Yigo. Pangelinan
said, "And we expect that because it's a workday, maybe work schedule
conflicts happen so what we're doing is besides the villages I mentioned, we're
also looking for alternates even for the villages I did not mention."
Precinct official training meanwhile begins on Saturday. She adds
precinct officials should expect a full days work on the general election
starting at 6 in the morning up until polls close at 8 at night then up to
Election Central at the University
of Guam. There are 21
polling places divided into 58 precincts throughout the island.
Precinct officials are paid $170 for their work.
