Road to Environmental Sustainability

Guam - The next phase of the $5.4 million resurfacing and widening project from the Ylig Bridge to Cross Island Road will employ green technology. According to Public Works, contractor Nippo Corporation will be using a new process by removing the existing pavement then placing recycled pavement materials as the cement treated base before laying new asphalt. According to DPW director Joanne Brown this is an unprecedented process in our road projects for Guam and certainly leads the way to our continuing efforts to forward environmental sustainability.
