Pair busted trying to import 1,000 grams of meth

Guam - Two people have been charged in a federal criminal complaint with importation of methamphetamine.  Kalidhassan Magalingam and Kaali Chellathura were found to be in possession of more than 1,000 grams of crystal methamphetamine when they went through a Customs inspection on Thursday morning.  The two had arrived to Guam from Taipei, Taiwan on a China Airlines flight. 

According to the federal complaint, during a secondary inspection, Customs officers found more than 600 grams of the drug Ice hidden in the soles of their shoes.  Magalingam had four packages of the substance in his shoes that weighed approximately 327 grams, while four packages of methamphetamine were found in Chellathura's shoes weighing approximately 288.5 grams.   Chellathura was also found to be concealing an additional 408 grams of crystal methamphetamine in the padding of her bra.
