Guam - Individuals in the government who enforce tobacco-free policies underwent special training today. The policies include the Natasha Act, which prohibits smoking in public places, the prohibition of smoking within 20 feet of an entrance of a public place and ensuring GovGuam agencies are smoke free.

Public Health tobacco control consultant Dr. Annette David said, "Ultimately it's about the health of our community because this is the number one preventable cause of death and disease on the island. We're all in here to make this island a healthier place to live in."

The top three killers on Guam are all tobacco related and the island has one of the highest rates of tobacco use compared to the U.S. mainland.
