DepCor refers judge to transition report
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - The transition report surrounding the Department of Corrections was the focus of DepCor' court monitor, Bradley Klemm. In his latest status report filed with the District Court, Klemm attaches a copy of the Calvo-Tenorio Transition Report specifically highlighting concerns related to various medical and dental equipment that have been sitting idle at the agency.
The report also noted that there is a complete lack of records accountability, manpower and caseworker and nurse shortages, as well as the $1.4 million that is owed in overtime payments to officers. DepCor remains under a consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice as the feds filed a lawsuit 20 years ago for living and sanitary conditions at the correctional facility.
