Jehovah's Witnesses conference in Mangilao

Guam - More than a thousand people attended the "Remain Close to Jehovah" District Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses today at the University of Guam Field House in Mangilao. The Bible-based program is designed to help families cultivate a stronger relationship with God.

Sam Balicha with the local congregation told KUAM News, "Basically, the convention will be presented for those who already believe in God and wish to deepen their spirituality. However, the convention will also feature parts that focus on the different attitudes that of non-believers."  And Ernie Collier added, "This program is being enjoyed throughout the United States during this time of the year, the winter time, we gravitate toward the locations below the equator and the atmosphere. There are over 350 of these programs in the 48 states."

The event began on Friday and concludes tomorrow.
