Guam - Senators are continuing to hear from school administrators on their needs for the upcoming school year to ensure they are compliant with the 14 points of the Adequate Public Education Act. Yet policymakers are finding some of their requests that can be funded from stimulus money.
Chairperson of the Legislative Committee on Education, Speaker Judi Won Pat, told KUAM News, "Those are some of the big discrepancies that we're finding. The second big areas are new computer systems and an electronic white board that costs apparently costs $5,000, for one. Fortunately, we found out from Dr. [Nerissa Bretania] Underwood that those could all be all used from the ARRA monies."
Budget hearings for DOE continue tomorrow.
