Air Force sending F-22s to Guam, Japan

Guam - The U.S. Air Force is scheduled to deploy F-22a Raptors to Andersen Air Force Base and Kadena Air Base in Japan later this month for approximately four months. According to a release from Andersen, 12 Raptors will deploy from Langley-Eustis Virginia to Andersen and another 12 will deploy from Holloman AFB in New Mexico to Kadena Air Force Base.

Approximately 250 airmen will accompany the Raptors to each location.  The F-22a is a combat aircraft that can avoid enemy detection, cruises at supersonic speeds and is highly maneuverable and provides joining forces a level of integrated situational awareness.
