Clinical psychologist cleared by board

by Mindy Aguon

The Guam Board of Medical Examiners has cleared a Mental Health clinical psychologist of any wrongdoing.  The Drug Enforcement Administration found prescriptions written for buprenorphine using Dr. Laura Post's DEA registration number.

Post told KUAM News that the scrips were written when she was off-island by her colleague at Mental Health, Dr. Renato Gahol.  A complaint was filed with the DEA and the GBME.

According to a letter written to Gahol, Board Vice-Chairperson Dr. Joan Gill noted that the board determined that Gahol did not violate any provisions of the Physician's Practice Act.

While Gahol has been cleared by the board, it should be noted there are still ongoing investigations being conducted by the Guam Police Department and the DEA.
