Senator Frank Blas Jr. Says that discussions are still under way regarding the status of the compact impact issue. Prompted by events in hawaii that would prevent fas citizens from having access to health care, sen. Blas Jr. says he wants to know why Hawaii is doing this and how it will affect the people of Guam.
According to Frank Blas Jr. "if the citizens decide to come back this way toward Guam, then they become people we have to take care of. I244
BLas adds that the cost of having to provide this service is a hefty consideration, "I think what is most important is there is cooperation with the government of FSM and Palau and trying to come to some resolution on this. More importantly and more at issue is the federal governments need to reimburse us in our costs and our expenses in providing services to these citizens."
