A press conference was held this morning to promote the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Jazz for Wishes concert coming up this weekend. Featured at the concert will be professional jazz musician Sadao Watanabe, who is known for his skills on the saxophone.

Accompanying Watanabe will be local artists Larry Franquez and Patrick Palomo, as well as African percussionist N'diasse Niang. Watanabe says this is only his second trip to Guam since 1977, and after returning almost 30 years later, he shares his first impressions on being back. “There’s lots of change...the roadways are nice and more hotels,” he said. When asked what he thought about the weather, he said, “It's great. I brought this weather.”

The group is looking forward to performing in an effort to raise money for Make-A-Wish. Currently the organization is working toward granting the wishes of thirteen children, which can range from something as small as a pair of sneakers to a trip to Walt DisneyWorld.

While tickets for the gala dinner concert are sold out, tickets for the concert this Sunday can still be purchased at all 76 and Circle-K locations, as well as National Office Supply at the Micronesia Mall.
