Guam - Cynthia De Castro was spared any jail time today because she is providing substantial assistance in an ongoing investigation.  The former CHB International operations manager was sentenced to five years probation.  District Court Chief Judge Frances Tydingco Gatewood granted a lesser sentence because of the defendant's cooperation.

The court did not disclose any details about the ongoing investigation.  DeCastro was also ordered to write a letter of apology to the Department of the Interior and pay more than $70,000 in restitution.
