Guam - The Department of Public Health and Social Services held a free child immunization clinic today at the Micronesia Mall in Dededo. The clinic was for children up to 18 years of age. According to Immunization Program Supervisor Annette Aguon, Public Health encourages parents to ensure their kids are up to date with their shots before the school year begins.
"We're providing all the recommended childhood vaccines, except for the chicken pox vaccine because it's very sensitive and we can't bring it out to an outreach like this. It must be at the clinic setting. So we're offering the H1N1 vaccine as well as the childhood vaccines like MMR, DTP and Polio," she explained.
Aguon says Public Health will be planning another outreach event next month.
