A routine traffic stop in the early morning hours led Guam police to a drug arrest in Mongmong-Toto-Maite.

Court documents say 33-year-old Rhyan Gaoiran Yebra was pulled over around 2 a.m. Wednesday after officers spotted his Nissan speeding out of the Kanada-Toto Loop.

Officers conducted the stop near the Red Plumeria Apartments.

According to a magistrate’s complaint, Yebra appeared nervous and trembling. When asked about a search of his vehicle, he admitted officers would find “meth” under the driver’s side floor mat.

Police later recovered a small plastic bag containing a crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Yebra reportedly told officers he bought the meth for $40 from a friend in maite and was rushing home to smoke it.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, a third-degree felony.
