A Guam family living stateside needs your help after the sudden passing of their loved one the day after Halloween. Former Dededo resident Paul Santos was enjoying the time with his children. But he suffered cardiac arrest the following day. His family now hoping to get his body back to Guam so that he could be laid to rest here at home.
A grieving father.
"The last thing he did was take the kids out for Halloween. He came home happy and the next thing you know he had passed," said Ken Atoigue, remembering the final moments of his son, Paul Anthony Jr. San Agustin Santos.
The Dededo natives relocated their family to Washington for opportunity.
But, on November 1st, Paul suffered cardiac arrest.
The family only learning then Paul had a heart condition.
Vanessa Delos Reyes is Paul’s wife, and said, "He was a great dad that’s for sure. He always protected his family including friends. There’s no doubt he would give you the shirt on his back if you needed it."
"He was really something. He had so much love and life, everything in him."
The father of three would’ve turned 35 this month.
"He’s a very generous and giving person. We try to bring him up as best we could and he’s very respectful. If you were his friend and having a hard time, he would be with you and support you" said Atoigue.
Paul is remembered as a man who touched the hearts of many.
Now his family is reaching out in hopes others can lend a helping hand to get Paul’s body flown back to Guam.
"I would just like to ask family, friends, everyone back home if they can just please help me and my kids and in-laws bring him back home to his final resting place, like what he wished for. He always told me that when he was still here," said Vanessa.
Atoigue added, "I’d just like to thank everyone who has helped out so far and I just ask that people reach deep down in their hearts so that myself, his other half and my wife and my family for their support to help us complete his final wish."
