Over in the CNMI, 78-year-old Moses Pangelinan Cabrera was arrested and charged in the homicide investigation of his younger brother, 72-year-old Pedro Pangelinan Cabrera.
Police arrested Moses Cabrera today at 12:50 p.m. at his San Jose village residence.
On Sunday, Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio issued an arrest warrant for Moses Cabrera, who is charged with second-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Cabrera is detained at the Department of Corrections on a $250,000 cash bail.
Pedro Cabrera’s body was found at Garapan Fishing Base on Saipan along the shoreline on top of rocks last Thursday. He had several injuries to his face. Police said it is possible that an incident began in Cabrera's home in San Jose village before his body was brought to Garapan.
The CNMI Dept. of Public Safety is scheduled to host a press conference on Monday at 10 a.m. to provide more details.
