Pedestrian killed in Tiyan crash, investigators shut down roadway

A man is dead after being hit by a car in Tiyan late Saturday.

It happened along East Sunset Boulevard in front of the DHL building at 10:09 pm, according to Guam Fire Department spokesperson Lt. Nick Garrido.

Units responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian crash when the victim was found unconscious and unresponsive at the scene.

“CPR was initiated on scene however, due to injuries sustained GFD paramedics terminated resuscitation measures,” said Garrido.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Guam International Airport Authority police officers were on scene diverting traffic, as they were forced to shut down the roadway.

Investigators with the Guam Police Department Highway Patrol Division also responded to investigate the crash.
