It’s a whole new world underwater. And YouTubers and free divers Alejandro and Marina from South Korea have made it their life’s work to share it.
Alejandro said, "We are trying to capture the beautiful moment underwater. We are underwater filmmakers and the major content of our video is being underwater. So we always want people to jump into the open water to see the beautiful nature like amazing creatures in the water."
The couple's passion has gained the attention of close to 60 thousand subscribers on YouTube and more than 26 thousand followers on Instagram alone. It’s been their job for the past 7 years after quitting what they described as boring office jobs in Seoul.
Marina told KUAM, "Free diving is our hobby. So when we have a holiday or a vacation, we always go to the to travel to another island and jump in the ocean. So it was the start."
Their adventures have brought them to various places, including Hawaii, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia. And their next stop is Rota.
Alejandro said, "In my opinion, Rota is one of the best island in the world. It is very quiet, very peaceful. We do not have to worry about the safety. It is very safe and untouched. Nature is so clean, especially in the water, but what we need is recognition. So by living on Rota, by making a video there, my plan is I want people to know more about my island and also I am going to open the dive center there. I want to invite more people to come to Rota and enjoy the nature and culture with local people there."
